The film starts with an extreme close up of a cassette tape and machine and diagetic sound is introduced. The shot then changes in a quick cut to a shot of the cassettes case named 'mix tape' which is also the name of the short film, there is another quick cut to a piece of paper with the directors name on. this is used instead of credits playing over the film.
The camera then cuts to a good mid shot of the boys head and the camera slowly zooms in and then changes to a reverse shot to show the boys face.
Their is then a close up shot of the boy removing the tap and the diagetic music cuts out.
A quick cut is used to take us to the outside of a house and non-diagetic music kicks in. The camera then uses slow motion shots to represent how long the journey feels for this young boy.
They use close ups to help portray the boys emotions. A mid shot is then used to show were the boy is walking to all the time using slow motion.
The non diagetic music then cuts and all sounds used are diagetic. From 1.00 to 1.32 they have used reverse angle shots to show both characters and introduce dialog.
The camera then cuts again to the boy in his bedroom and uses a slow zoom out. Diagetic music is once again introduced and we are given a close up shot of a picture moving to show us were the music is coming from. We are then introduced to a new character with an extreme close up shot of her face. They then use quick shots to cut between shots of both of them dancing and then music becomes non-diagetic and plays over the shots instead of in them.
